Where did summer go?

The summer flew by, but it was restful and relaxing. We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of "the baby" and we're beginning to work on the nursery. We're planning to be surprised as to whether our new addition will be a boy or a girl, but we already know this is a very happy baby since in one of the sonogram pictures the little one was smiling! :) As we get going on the nursery I am hoping to post some pictures. In the meantime, here's one of the girls celebrating Baltimore Restaurant Week at Melis. Such fun!

Recent Developments

The summer has officially started and while we are looking forward to a variety of fun happenings, what we are most excited about will happen on or about January 18th! That would be the arrival of the newest little Fisher making us a proud mommy and daddy! We have had the first sonogram and have heard the heartbeat and we simply cannot wait until this baby arrives! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we transition into the splendid journey of parenthood. We are absolutely thrilled!

The adorable sweater and hat the baby will wear home from the hospital (many thanks to my talented Mom!) and the VB diaper bag I have had since before they retired this pattern (and maybe before I even met Ross... hee hee). It's all about the clothes and the bag, so we're all set, right!? :)

It's May, It's May!

I keep humming that tune from the musical Camelot..."The Lusty Month of May" and wanted to post something before June... so here's what we've been up to: we had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend celebrating with Ross's family on Saturday (happy first Mother's Day to Stacey!) and then with my family at brunch on Sunday. This past weekend I headed to NYC on the annual bus trip and saw Memphis, a new musical which is outstanding. We go back again on Wednesday to see The Addams Family (so excited!). I still need to get my potted plants done (I am sure the neighbors are curious as to why I have empty pots all around the outside of the house - I just haven't had time) and am hoping to get to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. And the pool...still haven't sat by the pool yet - I look longingly every time I go to the gym, but it seems the warm weather isn't cooperating yet. So the second degree burn will have to wait (heehee). In the meantime here are some cute pics of Uncle Ross and Shelby.
Love her.

Anticipating the fun stuff

So typically I journal the goings-on around our house and there is much to be done this summer. I am looking forward (sort of) to landscaping the yard and organizing our basement...but in the meantime,
here's what I am REALLY excited about...
******************
Looking forward to reading...
Oprah by Kitty Kelly
(excellent pool-side literature, I can just tell!)
Looking forward to seeing...
Sex and the City 2 (oh, the clothes!)

Looking forward to watching...
The Real Housewives of New Jersey
(I am equal opportunity with the Bravo Housewives franchise
but when it comes to Jersey...is it bad to want to be friends with them?!)

Looking forward to listening to...
Encores by Jimmy Buffett (and counting down the days to our Labor Day concert)

Looking forward to visiting with...
The Civiello Family (over at Maine Living)

Looking forward to helping out with...
my sister's wedding planning (the dress, the cake, the favors, I really do love it all)

Looking forward to a great summer!

Yard Prep

We'll be landscaping this...I want boxwoods.
I cannot wait to get potted plants for the porch, but I am being a "good gardener" and will wait for Mother's Day Weekend to avoid any frosts. Hurry up May!
Ross's toy :)

Last September Ross spent a weekend removing 16 very overgrown bushes from around the perimeter of our house (I went to Williamsburg with my mom...we've found that when "we" need to do big projects that cause lots of mess...it's better if I'm not home:). This weekend Ross is spreading dirt and then will seed so that we can have grass. Yay! We are definitely getting ready for spring planting and growing and all the possibilities...
********************
(I stuck around for this project...except for a quick trip down Main Street for lunch and a Lilly Pulitzer skirt and cute jewelry at Lavalier...hey, a girl's gotta keep busy...)

Welcome to the world Shelby Fisher!

Easter Sunday ended with a visit to the hospital to meet our niece, Shelby. She is adorable! We're looking forward to making lots of wonderful memories with her.

Happy Easter!

Birthdays and Curtains

I have curtains in the living room! My mom spent a Saturday a few weeks ago making these gorgeous cream colored curtains with a candlewicking design. I love, love, love them and I love, love, love my talented mama!

And...I started my 29th trip around the sun on a fantastically sunny first day of spring. I am excited about 29 and despite joking that this is the LAST birthday I will ever recognize, I am looking forward to my last year in the 20s. I love my husband, my family, my friends, my home, and my career. I have found that I enjoy shopping for and decorating my house (almost as much as shopping for dresses and shoes!). I enjoy my evenings at the gym and am still surprised at how I can push myself to do "one more." I have found that I am calmer, steadier, more sure. It's nice. I like 29.

Spring on the Avenue

After what has felt like a never-ending winter...spring has officially sprung! We are enjoying much warmer days and the ride to and from work is punctuated quite nicely by pink tree lined streets! We're looking forward to celebrating Easter on Sunday with family and relaxing over the spring break.

Finders Keepers?

Jessica Simpson may not know where canned tuna fish comes from but she certainly can design a gorgeous high heel. Here's the story behind this latest purchase...

Saturday afternoon I specifically went into TJ Maxx with a gift card and a NEED for a cute pair of fun heels. ;) Red was exactly what I had in mind. I perused the seemingly endless shoe section looking for my size eights. Sandals, wedges, flats...nothing seemed "just right." At the time when I had decided to throw in the towel and head over to the summer dresses, something red in the size sixes caught my eye.

They were on the bottom shelf. Pushed back behind a pair of Nine West black pumps. They were calling my name. They were size eight. They were PERFECT. So perfect, in fact, that I am convinced someone had hid them for later purchase. As I put them on and walked over to those mini-floor mirrors they have in every shoe department, I had that little feeling that perhaps I should put them back. Then I saw the reflection in the mirror.
Finders Keepers...
The possibilities are endless for these cuties.
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!

(another) Snow Day

That's right, another snow day!
I'm trying to be as productive as possible today and even started a little bit of spring cleaning.
Perhaps if we think spring, it will happen?!
Until then...
(and yes, the vertical frame does not have any of our pictures in it yet...
but that little baby is cute!)

Love in is the air

It's cold and snowy outside today...
but we're sending warm thoughts, love, and Valentine's your way!

Who can resist a pink and red holiday in the middle of a dreary winter?
I certainly can't!
Happy Valentine's Day!
