Birthdays and Curtains

I have curtains in the living room! My mom spent a Saturday a few weeks ago making these gorgeous cream colored curtains with a candlewicking design. I love, love, love them and I love, love, love my talented mama!

And...I started my 29th trip around the sun on a fantastically sunny first day of spring. I am excited about 29 and despite joking that this is the LAST birthday I will ever recognize, I am looking forward to my last year in the 20s. I love my husband, my family, my friends, my home, and my career. I have found that I enjoy shopping for and decorating my house (almost as much as shopping for dresses and shoes!). I enjoy my evenings at the gym and am still surprised at how I can push myself to do "one more." I have found that I am calmer, steadier, more sure. It's nice. I like 29.

Spring on the Avenue

After what has felt like a never-ending winter...spring has officially sprung! We are enjoying much warmer days and the ride to and from work is punctuated quite nicely by pink tree lined streets! We're looking forward to celebrating Easter on Sunday with family and relaxing over the spring break.

Finders Keepers?

Jessica Simpson may not know where canned tuna fish comes from but she certainly can design a gorgeous high heel. Here's the story behind this latest purchase...

Saturday afternoon I specifically went into TJ Maxx with a gift card and a NEED for a cute pair of fun heels. ;) Red was exactly what I had in mind. I perused the seemingly endless shoe section looking for my size eights. Sandals, wedges, flats...nothing seemed "just right." At the time when I had decided to throw in the towel and head over to the summer dresses, something red in the size sixes caught my eye.

They were on the bottom shelf. Pushed back behind a pair of Nine West black pumps. They were calling my name. They were size eight. They were PERFECT. So perfect, in fact, that I am convinced someone had hid them for later purchase. As I put them on and walked over to those mini-floor mirrors they have in every shoe department, I had that little feeling that perhaps I should put them back. Then I saw the reflection in the mirror.
Finders Keepers...
The possibilities are endless for these cuties.
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!
