Open space

This view is from the sliding doors of the Florida room looking into the living room. Next, we're getting beams to support the weight of the house and we'll take the remainder of the wall down.

Another wall bites the dust!

Taking the wall out now provides us with an open view from the front door all the way back to the Florida room!

From little rooms...to a "GREAT" room!

Making Progress

We have knocked out the wall separating the living room from the third bedroom. Now we have a much larger space for our great room and we are excited about the possibilities! It looks awesome to come in the front door and see all the way back to the Florida room. The entire house looks larger and more modern. Walls are being prepped and painting will begin! We took lots of pictures this weekend, which we'll put up on the blog soon!

What we've been working on

We are on our way to having a beautiful great room! Bob helped Ross knock out the two walls which separated the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The space already looks so much larger and open. I love it! We've also discovered hard wood under multiple layers of laminate in the kitchen. We've started pulling down the layers of border in the bedrooms and bathrooms so that we can hopefully start painting soon. We will post some pictures soon so everyone can see the progress of our "little" project! Outside, I am planning to have a little herb garden in the space outside of the kitchen and I purchased a planter that looks just like a truck for my mint!

In the beginning...

We began ripping up carpet on Monday and we have a floor guy coming out this weekend to give us estimates on refinishing the hardwood floors. Ross tried out his E-bay trimmers last night and trimmed trees and hedges. He also had a chance to say hi to our new neighbors. We're hoping to get some pictures up soon so everyone can see our work in progress!
